Building Permit

... is in the mail!!! Hopefully we can get the pole barn company here by mid-September.

FLOOR-ish!!!

Subfloor in :: CHECK!

Add one strip at a time :: CHECK!

Picture of Carrie showing how she can stick the flooring to her chin :: CHECK!

The "-ish" is that we put the toilet in and it has a small leak so we have to fix that, but everything else is a go!!

A small, working bathroom :: PRICELESS!

Getting closer...

The sink is in and working, but the drain is too close to the base of the pedestal for when we put in the 1/4 inch luan and 1/4 inch floor. We'll have to fix it (again). Half of the room has luan while the other half is waiting for the sink fixin'. We got a lot done today.

Oh, and Kevin finished putting up the vapor barrier below the kitchen and hopes to never have to go down there again!!

50 tons of stone later...

We have an improved driveway and the stone bed for the pole barn!!

Yesterday's work went down the drain...

but that's a good thing! We have been having trouble with our shower drain not working properly. It works well in the sense of reminding us just how much water is used when taking a shower, but I don't really care for the 5 minute draining after the shower is finished. Kevin tried to clean it out with a coat hanger--unsuccessful. Then he tried to tilt the drain so that it was draining downhill rather that what it was--uphill. Didn't work. So, yesterday, Dad, Mom and I work on taking out the old pipes and replacing them with new. This worked out well because the original drain pipe for the sink was 1) too close to the floor to fit in the pedestal for the new sink, and 2) (we found out) completely clogged at one end.

Let's hope that the drain pipe under where the toilet is doesn't need replacing and we are good to go to installing our new floor!!
